Impressive Keane is proving his worth for Everton

Everton fans are finally starting to see the best of Michael Keane, and the young Englishman had another fine performance in the win against Newcastle.

There hasn’t been too much to cheer about at Goodison Park this season, as fans are desperate to see some production from last summer’s big money signings.

Gylfi Sigurdsson showed flashes of brilliance before his injury but was largely underwhelming, and Davy Klaassen has hardly seen the pitch.

Jordan Pickford can certainly hold his head up high though, and now Michael Keane is starting to prove himself as well.

The four-cap England international had a difficult start to his Goodison career, but was forced to play in some pretty makeshift defences due to injuries.

His fantastic recent form continued in Monday’s 1-0 win over Newcastle, as the 25 year-old registered three interceptions, nine clearances, and won five aerial duels.

If his defensive display wasn’t good enough, Keane also made one key pass, while recording an impressive 85% pass accuracy.

The young defender did lose his concentration a couple of times in the second half, but overall it was another strong showing from the ever-improving Toffee.

Newcastle fans are losing patience with Dwight Gayle after West Brom defeat

Newcastle United failed to impress on Saturday, losing 1-0 at home to bottom side West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League.

With nothing left to play for between now and the end of the season, the Magpies looked every bit a side already thinking of the close season holidays against Darren Moore’s outfit, conceding a first half Matt Phillips goal to lose the match.

The side’s top performers all failed to perform to the standards they’ve set and others, like Dwight Gayle, continued to frustrate supporters.

The striker hasn’t adjusted well to life in the top-flight after excelling during their promotion season, scoring just five goals in the Premier League this term.

Fans are growing impatient with his performances, with some feeling that he should be moved on this summer, even those who recognise how important he was for them in 2016/17.

Should Newcastle let him go when the transfer window opens?

Leeds fans bash Ayling’s comments on Heckingbottom

Leeds fans are not too happy with Luke Ayling’s latest comments, after the fan favourite defended manager Paul Heckingbottom.

It is no coincidence that Leeds got their first clean sheet last weekend on the day Luke Ayling returned to the side, but the 26 year-old may have hurt his relationship with the fans after his latest comments.

Paul Heckingbottom replaced Thomas Christiansen in February with the hopes to get Leeds’ playoff push back on track, but both the results and the performances got worse as time went on.

In terms of looking ahead to next season, fans are concerned by the performances under Heckingbottom, and on several occasions the players just haven’t looked motivated to fight for their club and their manager.

Ayling says this isn’t the case though, and that the 40 year-old Ex Barnsley man deserves another chance next season.

“Him and his staff have come in and done really well for us,” Ayling said.

“Training’s been good and there’s been stuff going on around the club that people don’t see. They’ve been really good and I hope he gets given a chance. I’m sure he will.”

Fans voted on Heckingbottom’s future last month, and the overwhelming majority certainly do not see eye to eye with Ayling.

Leeds fans discuss summer transfer business

Leeds fans are playing detective after the squad for their trip to Myanmar was announced, and it’s bad news for Felix Wiedwald and Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

It’s been a long and painful season for Leeds fans, and the club’s bizarre post-season trip to Myanmar sort of sums it all up in its own weird and wonderful way.

Leeds fans were quite simply perplexed when the post-season trip was announced, and they’re now using the squad to try and figure out who will leave this summer.

No doubt the biggest cause for the failure of the season was the failure in the transfer market, with signings like Felix Wiedwald and Tyler Roberts being complete and utter disasters.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga is another that fans had high expectations for, and the towering striker got off to a good start at Elland Road after his loan move from Hamburg.

The German has been poor since his injury though, and fans suspect his abence from the trip means his loan won’t be made permanent.

Felix Wiedwald was signed to sort out the goalkeeper situation, but the German stopper had a nightmare first season, and fans are hoping his absence means they’ll see the back of him too.

Plenty of fans are just using the trip to bash this season’s worst players too, with a bit of classic Leeds humour in the mix as well.

West Ham fans react as Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t hand James Collins new contract

West Ham United defender James Collins confirmed via his Instagram account on Wednesday that the club – presumably on the advice of new manager Manuel Pellegrini – weren’t going to be giving him a new contract, and Irons fans were quick to react.

The 34-year-old’s deal with the east London outfit is due to expire next month, and they had the chance to choose whether to extend it or not following another injury-hit campaign in which he made 13 Premier League appearances.

However, it seems that the Hammers board and boss have decided to take a new direction and release the 6ft 2in tall player who turns 35 in August and had been with them for 11 seasons across two different spells, despite the fact that he was a huge favourite among the London Stadium faithful and a big personality in the dressing room.

West Ham supporters, who have rejoiced on Twitter about Pellegrini’s plan for one of Collins’ former teammates, took to social media to give their thoughts on the situation, and while one labelled it as the “first mistake of Pellegrini’s reign”, another said “I love Collins but I think it’s the correct decision”.

West Ham United fans don’t want Arnautovic to leave for any price this summer

West Ham United supporters are desperate to keep Marko Arnautovic at the club this summer, even if a big club comes in with a massive offer.

Manchester United have been linked with a move the attacker this week, as reported by Sky Sports, who also say that the Hammers value him at a massive £50m.

That’s a huge amount of money for a 29-year-old, but Irons fans reckon that the club should be building a team around him rather than selling him to Premier League rivals.

Arnautovic was a massive part of the club’s top-flight survival last season, scoring 11 goals and assisting 6 times in 31 Premier League appearances.

The Austrian international has built up a real affinity with fans and seems to love playing for the club, making it all the more heart-wrenching for supporters if a move does transpire this summer.

Will Man United come in for him, or is he set to stay and become a legend at the London Stadium?

Revealed: Huge majority of Leeds fans say Alioski would thrive under Marcelo Bielsa

According to Sky Sports, Leeds United are in advanced talks to appoint Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager and Paul Heckingbottom’s successor.

If the 62-year-old does arrive at Elland Road he will get to work on deciding who is and isn’t good enough for a Championship promotion push next season, and who fits into the elaborate 3-3-3-1 formation he has used in the past.

Ezgjan Alioski was one of the success stories of a disappointing 2017 summer of recruitment for the Yorkshire outfit, as he became a regular in the starting XI and scored seven goals and provided a further five assists in 42 league appearances.

Leeds fans on Twitter certainly believe that the winger – who can play on either flank – could be a huge success under the Argentine coach.

We decided to ask more Whites supporters to vote on our poll to see whether they thought the 18-cap Macedonia international would thrive or flop under Bielsa, and a whopping 92% think he would be a huge hit.

It would certainly be a brave appointment by Andrea Radrizzani and Co, but it could be one that brings the best out of some of their attacking players like Alioski.

West Ham United fans would love to sign Aaron Mooy after Australia performance

West Ham United fans are interested in bringing Huddersfield Town midfielder to the London Stadium this summer, after watching him in action for Australia against France in the World Cup on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was one of his nation’s top performers against a world class French side, but ultimately missed out on a victory after Les Bleus emerged as 2-1 winners.

He joined Huddersfield on a permanent basis last summer after playing a vital role in their promotion to the English Premier League, shining again in the top-flight in 2017/18, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Now Hammer supporters reckon he could be the perfect fit in Manuel Pellegrini’s new look first team squad, hoping to see their club make a move for him in the months ahead.

Is he the kind of player West Ham need?

Revealed: 51% of Manchester United fans would sign Ronaldo over Bale

After a Spanish report claimed Manchester United want both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale this summer, fans are completely split on which superstar they would prefer.

According to Don Balon, Jose Mourinho wants to bring Bale to Old Trafford this summer, but will happily turn to Ronaldo if the Welshman isn’t available.

The report claims the Red Devils have “made offers” to both players to convince them to join.

Both Madrid superstars would of course cost a huge fee, but Ronaldo’s age would likely make him the cheaper option.

Bale could potentially be the Red Devils’ star man for years to come if he joined, but there is certainly cause for concern over the wing wizard’s injury woes.

Ronaldo will turn 34 next season, but his age hasn’t slowed down his insane goalscoring record, grabbing a remarkable 26 goals in 27 La Liga appearances, alongside a simply ridiculous 15 Champions League goals.

The former Old Trafford favourite could still give one or two top quality seasons, and would be one hell of a presence to help guide the squad on and off the pitch.

Crystal Palace must sign Antonio to balance their midfield ahead of next season

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson will be looking to add to his squad this summer as the Eagles push to improve on their 11th place finish in the Premier League last time out.

What’s the story?

According to The Mirror, West Ham winger Michail Antonio has been told he does not have a future at the London Stadium and is allowed to leave the club this summer.

The 28-year-old struggled with a number of different injuries last season, playing just 21 league matches and scoring only three goals. He was also disciplined by the Hammers and missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Palace in January after missing a team meeting.

Valued at €15m by Transfermarkt, Antonio could be the perfect signing for Palace this summer and it would seem West Ham are motivated to sell in order to fund other transfer business.

Balance at Palace

Hodgson will have a battle on his hands this summer to retain the services of Wilfried Zaha who, according to The Mirror, is a main target for Spurs.

At the end of last season Hodgson was setting his team up in a 4-4-2 but with four central players across the midfield and Zaha playing upfront alongside Andros Townsend.

If Palace are able to keep the Ivorian and can wrap up the signing of Antonio, Hodgson could move Zaha back out to the left and play his new man on the right.

This would create a far better balance in Palace’s midfield and could also bring the best out of Christian Benteke, harking back to the days of Zaha and Bolasie tearing up full-backs at Selhurst Park.
