After a week of high intensity European football, we’ve got a full slate of Premier League matches this weekend. And there are certainly matches that are certain to win you discounted pizza from Papa Johns over the next 48 hours or so.

This week will feature some Premier League matches that are tough to call. However, we here at FootballFancast give you our picks on which teams we think are likely to score at least twice.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have been a good side to back to get some half price pizza this season as they’ve found the back of the net at least twice in 16 Premier League matches this season. They play at White Hart Lane where they’ve been able to put it past the keeper in eight Premier League fixtures. Spurs will take on a Bournemouth side who have conceded two goals in seven away matches this term.

Swansea City

Whoever Aston Villa are playing is always a reliable choice for 50% off pizza. That team this week is Swansea City, who will be expected to hand Villa another loss by more than one goal. Villa have conceded two or more goals in 11 of their 15 Premier League matches on the road. Swansea still need to win matches to secure their place in the Premier League next season and expect them to capitalise on this opportunity.

Leicester City

The Foxes should to continue their title winning form this weekend at Crystal Palace. Leicester have been one of the Premier League’s best teams on the road this year. In eight of their last ten matches, and in each of their last five fixtures at home, Palace have allowed two or more goals. With Spurs facing a weak Bournemouth side, Leicester will have to win to hold their lead and if they do then you should also expect to get 50% off Papa’s pizza in the process.

Manchester United face West Ham this evening in a quarter-final replay that will be the last ever FA Cup fixture held at Upton Park, with the Hammers set for a future-defining move to the Olympic Stadium.

Four points adrift of a Champions League spot with just six games of the season remaining, the FA Cup represents the Red Devils’ best chance of finding a silver lining in what has been a largely underwhelming season at Old Trafford.

The official starting Xis were confirmed on Twitter around thirty minutes ago but not every Red Devils fan is happy with Louis van Gaal’s selection this evening – in fact, quite the opposite.

Whilst the return of Wayne Rooney, selected as a substitute, has been received warmly by the majority, the same can’t be said for Marouane Fellaini’s presence in central midfield.

The cumbersome lankster has come under continuous criticism this season and hasn’t actually been involved in a United fixture since their Europa League elimination at the hands of Liverpool last month.

The Glasgow footballing divide sure is a fierce one, with the Old Firm derby being one of the most volatile in European football.

Rangers and Celtic have had some colossal encounters over the years, though the financial meltdown at Ibrox in recent times has clearly seen the Bhoys brought to the forefront of Scottish football unparalleled.

The two will resume their rivalry on a more regular basis following Gers’ promotion back to the Premier League, though the Scottish Cup semi-final tomorrow represents another huge clash.

Though money has obviously been a huge issue for the returning Rangers, the hard lessons the club have learnt over the past few years have not appeared to reach everyone who follows them.

Lloyd Cross posted an Instagram photo claiming he had spent £400 for hospitality tickets in the CELTIC end simply in order to prevent two more Hoops fans from attending.

Monday night produced one of the incredible moments the Premier League has ever witnessed, as Chelsea’s two-goal comeback against Tottenham Hotspur sealed the English title for everybody’s favourite underdog Leicester City.We at Football Fancast were chuffed for the Foxes, as were the lads in the Sky Sports Studio, every journalist on Fleet Street and well, pretty much anybody who isn’t a Tottenham Hotspur fan. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is in “continuous contact†with Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who is desperate to join the Reds despite rival interest in his signature, according to Emanuele Giulianelli.

The Poland international, who represented his home country at EURO 2016 this summer, has been mooted as one of the Reds’ key transfer targets for much of the past few months.

However, a fractious relationship between Liverpool and Udinese – caused by a fall-out with the Serie A side’s owners, the Pozzo family, due to Jerome Sinclair’s Watford move – has been an issue for the club, which has allowed Napoli into the race, while AC Milan are the latest club to have been seriously aligned with the man who shone while on loan at EmpoliÂlast term.

However, respected Italian football journalist, Giulianelli, has taken to Twitter to shed some light on the situation, claiming that Klopp is working hard to get the deal done and that Zielinski himself wants to move to Anfield:

He tweeted: “Klopp is in continuous contact with Zielinski: despite verbal agreements between Udinese and Milan, the player pushes to join Liverpool.â€

Zielinski has already been pictured in a Liverpool shirt this summer, hinting that he is extremely keen on a move to the Premier league side.

Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp are two of the most intriguing managers in the league.

Ignore Conte, Guardiola or Mourinho, these two bosses know how they want their sides to set up and tend to execute it to perfection, with intelligent selections and brave decisions.

This weekend, two of the league’s most entertaining sides face-off. One team, you would suggest, is further down the process of transition of the other. Spurs have gone past the inconsistency stage, have bought sensibly and are now looking to kick on towards silverware. Liverpool, on the other hand, are still battling against the up and downs of performances.

Jurgen Klopp takes time to instil his way of playing, get his players to the necessary level of fitness and mould the squad precisely how he needs it. Fans may become impatient, but there is only so much that can be changed from the doldrums of Brendan Rodgers’ final year in a short period of time.

This game, for all of these reasons, is notoriously unpredictable. We’ve given predicting it a go, anyway…

Goal bonanza

There will be a plethora of attacking talent on show at White Hart Lane for this one. Each side boasts are a frankly rude amount of attacking options, giving Klopp and Pochettino plenty of tactical flexibility in the final third. Liverpool possess terrifying pace, whilst Spurs are a finely-tuned unit, whoever they opt to start.

Janssen started with Kane playing just behind him last time out, giving Pochettino the luxury of introducing the supremely gifted Dele Alli from the bench.

Although Spurs have the defence to resist, Liverpool are almost nailed on to find the net. If you’re a betting man, a flutter on both teams to score is a beauty for this cracker. There’s little faith in Liverpool’s defence, but their attack looks yet more fearsome after netting five in midweek.

Any combination of players could start in for these two sides, but one thing is for sure, there will be goals in this.

Lamela to dominate

Ragnar Klavan, James Milner or Alberto Moreno.

Jurgen Klopp isn’t blessed with the greatest options at left-back, is he?

It’s a much discussed issue for the Reds, the fans are constantly demanding a signing in this position, but it’s not going to happen in time for this clash (if it does at all). The worry for Klopp is that Spurs’ most improved player, Erik Lamela, will be working his magic on that flank.

The former AS Roma winger has already contributed five key passes in only two games and will be a significant creative force again. Liverpool’s left-sided forward will have to track Kyle Walker’s energetic bursts down the right, too, as the full-back overlaps to create more space on the inside-right for the Argentine.

Not so Dier

It was no mistake that Eric Dier was so very key for England this summer. Or before that, even.

The former Sporting Lisbon defender was transitioned into midfield by Pochettino last season and became the midfield lynch pin for the Lilywhites as a result. He reads the game exceptionally, can compete with anyone physically and does not risk losing the ball when in possession.

Dier, simply speaking, is one of the best in the league at what he does. He sweeps up and protects, he’s exactly the sort of player that Liverpool are currently lacking in their midfield

Liverpool’s third man runners can tear defences apart, but with Dier in the middle, Spurs should have no such worries.

His presence alone could well be the swing factor in this game.

West Ham are rumoured to be one of the sides leading the chase to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on loan. The young Norwegian burst on to the scene in 2014 making his senior international debut against the United Arab Emirates and in doing so became the youngest player ever to play for the Norwegian national team at 15 years-old. Later on that year he would go on to become the youngest player to ever feature in the qualifying stages for the European Championships.

Naturally, this attracted the interest of some of the world’s biggest clubs and he soon made the switch to Real Madrid. Since then it hasn’t quite worked out though and many think a move away from the club on loan at least would help aid his progression.

West Ham could be the place to go for the Norwegian but it might not just be him that sees his future with the Hammers. There’s plenty of other names linked with the club and here are FOUR of them…

Achraf Lazaar

Lazaar has been at Palermo for two years and has largely impressed with his performances down the left side. He can play as a left midfielder but is primarily used as a left back – a position the Hammers could do with strengthening. Aaron Cresswell would be the club’s first choice left back but with his injury record the place is up for grabs and the Moroccan Lazaar might be able to make the spot his own.

Charlie Taylor

West Ham clearly feel they need strengthening down the left side of defence because Taylor plays there too. The Leeds man has seen a bid for him rejected already this Summer from the Hammers by his club but it wouldn’t be surprising to see another bid lodged before the end of the window. He made 39 appearances for Leeds last season and will be a key player wherever he is come September.

Manolo Gabbiadini

The Hammers also look to be interested in strengthening their striking options. With only Andy Carroll as a regular goal-scorer, and that’s only if he’s fit, the club need extra forwards. Gabbiadini played second fiddle to Gonzalo Higuain at Napoli last season and although the Argentine has now moved on, he may still be interested in a move. The interest has been there this Summer, whether a deal happens remains to be seen.

Carlos Bacca

Will it or won’t it? It’s been one of the transfer sagas this Summer and as yet West Ham still haven’t completed the signing of Carlos Bacca. The Hammers’ interest in the striker is well documented as they look for European experience up top but fans must be getting frustrated with the lack of movement. Whatever the situation, if it’s going to happen, it needs to happen fast.

It’s safe to say not many people gave Celtic much hope when they arrived at Parkhead on Wednesday evening.

After a 7-0 crushing away loss at Barcelona in the last round, everyone seemed to tout the Bhoys as the potential group whipping boys, and you couldn’t blame anyone for that view. Brendan Rodgers’ side were given a footballing lesson at the Nou Camp, a lesson in ruthlessness, consistency and counter-attacking.

So when they returned to Scotland seven goals worse off, people really ruled them out of the running to get out of the group. But fast-forward a couple of weeks to their tie against Man City and things are looking a whole lot different. A cracking 3-3 draw at home in Scotland was truly deserved and if anything, it proved to the world that Celtic do have every chance of getting out of this tough Champions League group.

Pure heart and spirit

Everything the Hoops showed against Manchester City was missing against Barcelona. It’s a well-proven fact that the other sides in this group do have more footballing quality, but regardless you can’t buy Celtic’s pure spirit and heart.

Three times they took the lead against Pep Guardiola’s side on Wednesday night and despite the Premier League giants battling back, they kept going and held out for a draw, even when things got nervy towards the end.

Footballing talent is one thing but having a squad that is willing to learn from defeats and work for each other always has the chance of pulling off an upset.

Time is on their side

We’re just two games into the Champions League group stages and whilst Barcelona are sitting pretty at the top of Group C, Celtic have plenty of time to turn it around. With a double header against bottom-of-the-table Borussia Monchengladbach up next, it really is crunch time for Brendan Rodgers and his players.

But after that, they’ve still got games against City and Barcelona. They’ll probably be hoping results go in their favour and Barcelona run away with the group but still, with four fixtures left to play, there are plenty of opportunities for Celtic to pick up points.

Their supporters really are the 12th man

We see it year after year, Celtic supporters never ever disappoint. Travelling in their thousands they’re an extremely impressive bunch of fans on the road, but it’s at home where they really give their side a much-needed boost.

The atmosphere against Manchester City was absolutely electric and you can really see how the Celtic Park faithful carry their team. There are some young players in the squad and to have those fans shouting, cheering and supporting the team in the fanatical way they do is absolutely fantastic.

Barcelona know how special the atmosphere can get in Scotland and the Bhoys will hope their supporters could help them get an unlikely three points when they welcome the Catalans at the end of November.

The Sun have delivered for us during our hours of need (the international break, that is) with an intriguing transfer update, in which they claim Manchester United remain keen on Antoine Griezmann and that they hope having his close friend, Paul Pogba, at Old Trafford will give them an advantage when trying to sign him.

What’s the story?

Manchester United’s interest in the Frenchman is not overly new – Bleacher Report put out an interesting piece on this just after the last transfer window closed – and The Sun have waded in with some more tantalising details.

Although they claim that Chelsea and Arsenal are both keen on the Atletico Madrid hit-man, the crux of the newspaper’s report centres around Man United being in for him, (he’s their No.1 target, no less) and the role Pogba could play. They believe that with the compatriots ‘pals’ off the pitch, the attacker may be swayed towards Manchester, should he decide it’s time to leave Madrid in 2017.

It may be a case of The Sun putting two and two together to make five, but they do have some back-up to suggestions Pogba may be influential in the form of quotes from Griezmann about his relationship with the world’s most expensive player:

“We get on very well. It is true that the EUROs has brought us closer together still.

“Paul is a really nice guy. He is it! We send messages, Snapchats. He’s really a good friend. When he plays with his club, I try to look at it to see if he had a good game or not.â€

Pogba is known to be quite the character off the pitch, so perhaps Griezmann may be tempted to unite with him in England, although personal friendship is by no means the most serious factor to be considered by a player at the top of his game.

Is he attainable?

Yes. The Telegraph claim that he has a £89.3m release clause in his contract and even with Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban they would be powerless to do anything should that be triggered. Granted, that’s a huge sum of money, but Chelsea are thought to be willing to pay the fee needed, and Man United are one of the very richest football clubs on the planet, so they themselves may be able to pay out just a year after securing Pogba.

Outside of the Premier League, it’s hard to see any other club side being able to lure him away, with Real Madrid’s rivalry with Atletico potentially enough to put him off the switch, while Barcelona’s financial situation isn’t at its healthiest.

There’s the prospect of Paris Saint-Germain coming in with their surplus of Middle Eastern cash, but Griezmann himself is likely to see the Premier League or Spain as the destinations for him given the qualities of the top leagues.

Will it happen?

Man United have the money, there’s a release clause in place and Griezmann may elect to move to a truly elite side in 2017, but the crucial factor for the Red Devils is Champions League qualification. If they are in the big time, there’s every chance Pogba could be the x-factor in their favour… about time he got an assist!

Tottenham saw their title challenge take a huge boost on Saturday as they won at home against West Ham 3-2, with many of their rivals at the summit dropping points.

The Lilywhites thought they had gone ahead early on only to see Christian Eriksen’s strike ruled out for offside and soon after went behind thanks to Michail Antonio’s headed effort.

1-0 was how it stayed until after half time when young midfielder Harry Winks scored from close range to suggest a better second 45 was in store.

That is what happened, eventually, as Manuel Lanzini converted a penalty for the Hammers to make the score 2-1 and White Hart Lane crowd uneasy.

They needn’t have been, however, as two late Harry Kane goals sealed the victory for the men from north London – leaving West Ham fans to seriously wonder how three points slipped away from them.

Tottenham need more players

Tottenham’s squad just doesn’t seem big enough to cope with all that is going to be thrown at them in the coming months. Whilst their first XI is up there with pretty much any side in the league, their bench today just did not look good enough and, despite the win, that will worry Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the January window. The Argentine will surely try and get some extra players in, but finding good quality footballers available in the mid-season window is notoriously tough.

West Ham have to keep a back three despite losing

West Ham have followed Chelsea in adopting the vogue 3-4-3 formation in recent weeks and it looks as though it’s going to pay off for them too. For much of the game the system was working a treat with Tottenham being kept at bay, until the men in claret and blue capitulated right at the very end. Spurs couldn’t get their press going and the Hammers found themselves controlling large portions of the match but ultimately, blew it when it mattered.

Spurs need to work on new systems

Spurs couldn’t play their favoured 4-2-3-1 thanks to their injury list and their performance suggested they haven’t really worked on a back-up plan for this eventuality. They couldn’t get their press going nor could they get much joy down the flanks, and if they are forced to play a different formation with two strikers up top again, they may suffer once more. The second half was better as the game stretched and Dele Alli came onto restore their usual formation, but that flexibility will be needed throughout the campaign.

Antonio deserves more with England

The former Nottingham Forest man found the net once again and genuinely deserves more than sitting on the bench for England. He’s one of the top scorers in the league despite playing in midfield for a side that has struggled this season yet he still finds himself not in the England line-up. There’s no international break until March now, so the test for the wing-forward will be to try and keep these levels up until the next squad.

 Tottenham could just win the league

Out of all the sides challenging for the title this season, you got the impression that Spurs were beginning to flag  until the last minutes of this one. The Lilywhites kept going until the very end and got their reward as West Ham fell to bits and that kind of belief will undoubtedly give them huge momentum as we head into Christmas. Spurs remain the only unbeaten side in the league and this could turn out to be a pivotal win when we look back on things in May.
